In Texas, homeowners who are 65 years of age or older—or who are disabled—and have applied for and received the Over 65 or Disability Exemption are eligible for a school property tax freeze. This means their school district property taxes cannot increase above the frozen amount, even if a new bond is approved. For these residents in Frost ISD, the proposed bond would not increase their school property tax rate. More information about this exemption and the bond proposal is available at FrostISDBond.com/Tax-Information.

If the bond is approved, the estimated tax rate increase would be $0.24, resulting in an average monthly impact of $17 per household—based on the average home value in Frost ISD. Learn more and calculate your personalized tax impact at: frostisdbond.com/tax-information

Frost ISD is planning facility improvements that include a Pre-K through 8th grade addition. The project highlights include expanding classroom space, meeting current classroom standards, and updating facility systems. As part of the proposed updates, the existing agricultural facility and transportation facility would be relocated to better support student and operational needs. For more information, visit FrostISDBond.com/Bond-Proposal.

Hello Frost ISD Parents! Just a friendly reminder that STAAR testing for students in grades 3 through 11 will begin next week and continue throughout April. To help your child perform their best, please ensure they get a good night's sleep, eat breakfast on their testing days, and are on time to school. Frost ISD is a closed campus on all STAAR and EOC testing days, and we kindly ask that you avoid scheduling appointments for your students on these days. Once testing begins, students must complete the assessment on the same day, unless they are sent home by Nurse Campbell. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact Jennifer Gibson, FISD Testing & Accountability Coordinator, at jennifer.gibson@frostisd.org, or call the front office at 903-998-7201.

Here is information on our newly adopted 2025-2026 school calendar.
Frost ISD and Community,
The FISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the adoption of the 2025-2026 instructional calendar. After extensive planning and input from an attendance committee on campus, three calendar options were presented to the Board. Staff and community feedback strongly supported continuing with a hybrid four-day instructional week, while taking into account a few notable changes from the 24-25 school year calendar.
The district recommended and the Board approved Calendar Option C, which includes five-day instructional weeks at the beginning of the semester, with four-day instructional weeks beginning the week of September 19th and continuing for the remainder of the school year, other than a few 5 days weeks that are utilized to accommodate testing season and to meet state minute requirements.
School operating times will remain the same as they currently are for the 25-26 school year. School will begin at 7:40am and be dismissed at 4:05pm, with students being considered tardy after 7:45am. Having 505 instructional minutes in our day allow us to implement more four-day weeks while maintaining the required instructional time for our students (75,600 minutes)
Thank you for your input and support in shaping our academic calendar!
