Frost ISD Community:
To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment at our home football games, students in 8th grade and below must be accompanied by a responsible adult. It is important that all students have adequate supervision while at the game to alleviate past problems with younger students. Please instruct your child to remain in the bleachers unless going to the restrooms or concession stands. Those families parked along the fence need to closely supervise their children around the vehicles. This is a dangerous area because vehicles are moving throughout the game. Our goal is to create a fun and safe family atmosphere so that all spectators can enjoy watching the game. Please also help us to clean up the stadium by finding a blue trash can and placing your trash in it.
Sincerely,
Steve Reynolds

Good afternoon FISD Community,
I wanted to take this opportunity to provide information to our FISD families regarding the threat made this weekend via the Frost ISD Stop It app, specifically towards the Frost School District. This case is under investigation and the threat level is currently being assessed by law enforcement. District officials are confident that all staff and students are safe and will remain so going forward because although it was specific to our district the threat originated outside of the United States. We have involved our local Police
Department, Navarro County Sheriff’s Department, and the Federal Bureau of
Investigation.
Frost ISD takes all threats made against our students or staff members seriously. We ask that you take this opportunity to talk with your child and become familiar with how to report any suspicious behaviors, social media postings, and/or student comments. All reported incidences will be investigated for potentially harmful or dangerous behavior. FISD will determine the level of concern, assess any required action, and organize any necessary resources and student support strategies.
We will have an increased law enforcement presence this week, as well as maintaining the safety and security inside of the school. The safety of students and faculty is the utmost priority. Frost ISD, along with local law enforcement agencies, will be sure to investigate every threat, credible or not, to the fullest extent and enforce significant consequences outlined in the law to those responsible.
Sincerely,
Steve Reynolds

Friday, September 20th is a non-instructional day.

Parents,
Attendance is very important for your child!
Good attendance will allow your child to participate in attendance incentives.
Good attendance will allow your child to be able to celebrate small successes which will lead to larger positive impacts.
Lack of attendance will lead to negative outcomes: Students will be attending after/before school detention, community service and/or Saturday School. If they miss 10% of their class they will be denied credit for non attendance and will need to retake their courses. Truancy Court charges may be filed if they are not in regular attendance.
Attending school regularly will be in the best interest of the children!
Texas law requires students ages 6-19 to attend school each day that instruction is provided. School districts are required to notify parents at the beginning of the school year.
This notice must state that the parent may be subject to prosecution and the student may be referred to truancy court if the student is absent 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period.
If a student has 3 or more unexcused absences or parts of days absent in a four-week period; the district must send a warning letter to the parent that the student will be subject to truancy prevention measures (TPM's)
If the student continues to not be in attendance, the student will be required to complete after/before school detention to make up the time.
If the student continues to have attendance problems, Saturday School will be implemented to comply with the attendance law.
If the truancy prevention measures are not successful in correcting the attendance issue, the student and parent/guardian will have charges filed within the court system.
Please be diligent in getting your child to school.
Thanks,
Karen Lane

Dear Parents/Guardians,
As you know, our Varsity football game is scheduled to be held in Hamilton next Thursday night, August 29th. This will require our students and staff to have out of town travel and a very late arrival home that night. We also have experienced a recent outbreak of sickness for staff and students in our first couple of weeks of school.
In light of these events, we have decided to use our scheduled school day on August 30th as a Non-Instructional day and students and staff will not be in school on that day. We will amend our school calendar to replace that school day with the November 8th, Non-Instructional day, that will now become a school day for staff and students. This will allow us to also be in school on Senior Night, which will allow us to have a Pep Rally for Seniors on this day. This will not affect our calendar minutes or interrupt instruction by simply trading an instructional day.
This will allow our students and staff to get the much needed rest after long travel as well as allow our custodial staff an extra day to deep clean and sanitize the campuses and hopefully alleviate some of the illness we have experienced recently.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Good Luck to our Polar Bears!
Steve Reynolds
Superintendent
