Due to predicted severe weather on Wednesday, and to ensure our elementary students have the best possible testing environment, free from weather-related stress or disruptions, we've made the difficult decision to reschedule the Elementary Math STAAR test.
Here's the updated schedule:
Tuesday: Junior High and 3rd Grade
Thursday: 4th, 5th & 6th Grade
Friday: Make-up STAAR
We know our Elementary Field Day is also on Friday, and we're still planning for it. However, any student who misses their test on their assigned day will need to take the make-up test on Friday, which could mean missing out on field day. If your child is scheduled to be absent on their new testing date, please reach out to our district testing coordinator, Jennifer Gibson (jennifer.gibson@frostisd.org), as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize a positive and focused testing experience for all our students.

In Texas, homeowners who are 65 years of age or older—or who are disabled—and have applied for and received the Over 65 or Disability Exemption are eligible for a school property tax freeze. This means their school district property taxes cannot increase above the frozen amount, even if a new bond is approved. For these residents in Frost ISD, the proposed bond would not increase their school property tax rate. More information about this exemption and the bond proposal is available at FrostISDBond.com/Tax-Information.

If the bond is approved, the estimated tax rate increase would be $0.24, resulting in an average monthly impact of $17 per household—based on the average home value in Frost ISD. Learn more and calculate your personalized tax impact at: frostisdbond.com/tax-information

Frost ISD is planning facility improvements that include a Pre-K through 8th grade addition. The project highlights include expanding classroom space, meeting current classroom standards, and updating facility systems. As part of the proposed updates, the existing agricultural facility and transportation facility would be relocated to better support student and operational needs.
